Elementary Report Card
Elementary Report Card Marking System
The new report card will emphasize growth as students work toward demonstrating grade level skills by the end of the school year. All elementary grades will use the same four-point scale. The Academic Performance key describes the student’s skill and knowledge level based on their classroom performance against end of year expectations for academic achievement. A student earning a 3 demonstrates the skills a student is expected to reach on grade level standards by the end of the year. Only standards taught and assessed during the first semester will be reported at the end of the first semester.
The scale is defined as follows:
4: Demonstrates the skill or understands concepts at a level above expectations
3: Demonstrates the skill or understands concepts and meets expectations
2: Sometimes demonstrates the skill or understands concepts and meets some expectations
1: Seldom demonstrates the skill or understands concepts and is not meeting expectations
NA: Not Assessed at this time
There will be more information about the new report card in October prior to parent-teacher conferences that will provide additional details about what is expected of students.
