5th Grade Parent Info
Dear Parents of Fifth Graders,
In about a month, your child will be finishing up their final days as an elementary school student. We bet you can’t believe how fast the time has gone by- neither can we! We wanted to keep you updated with regards to happenings specific to our fifth graders and keep you in the loop regarding the transition to CVMS, as well as end-of-the-year events.
CVMS Transition Events:
Next Friday, Vice Principal Casey will be visiting with our fifth graders, outlining some incentives to start the year off next year that our students can earn at the end of their 5th grade year. Basically, following school rules, no referrals and completing work on time is their quest. On June 2nd, the 5th graders will travel down to CVMS for a tour and questions.
It’s a big time of the year for our 5th graders. For some students, there can be a lot of anxiety and stress during this time. If this is the case, please let Mr. Milner know and he can arrange for some other informal meetings with CVMS administrators to help ease their worries.
5th Grade Track Meet:
The annual 5th Grade Track Meet will be taking place on May 29th at the Newberg High School track for 5th grade students across our district. Our district PE teachers have been collaborating during the spring to put this event together. The kids will travel over in the morning and be there for most of the day. Parents are needed as volunteers, or to come and cheer on our kids. Please let the office know if you are available to volunteer at a station.
End of the Year Promotional Assembly:
One of the final events for our 5th graders will be the annual 5th Grade Promotional Assembly. We have scheduled this for the final day at 10:00 AM in the gym. This is a special time to acknowledge each individual student as they complete their elementary school years. If you would like to help out with “after assembly” festivities, please let Mr. Milner know.
Thank you for supporting our school and sending such great kids to school each day. They’ve been great kids to work with.
Kevin Milner, Principal
Mrs. Reed and Mr. Evers, Fifth Grade Teachers
