US Regions Video Project

Students in the intermediate grades have been studying United States geographical regions since the beginning of the school year. The culminating project will be to demonstrate their learning by creating a music video featuring the geographic regions and notable sites in each region. As shown in the pictures below, work is still in the planning stages. Stay tuned for more updates, and the final projects will be posted on this blog in a few weeks.

The iPads are here!

The new iPad carts have arrived! Last spring EY teachers from the 2/3 and 4/5 teams wrote a proposal for a district pilot project focusing and student assessment, intervention, and reinforcement in the area of math. The proposal was approved for two ipad carts (30 devices in each). Currently we are in the process of formatting the devices and carts. Today in 4/5 math we used the iPads and an online service called Poll Everywhere to conduct a student survey to be used in a graphing unit this week. Below are some pics of the first rollout of the devices.
